Skoda Superb 2012

The Škoda Superb is a large sedan built by the Czech car manufacturer Škoda Auto. Škoda Auto’s parent company is the Volkswagen Group which is significant for the smaller manufacturer since they are able to leverage the larger resources of the global Volkswagen Group.

The Superb models produced from 2001 to 2008 were based on the Volkswagen Passat platform but were 10 centimetres (3.9 in) longer.  The 2008 and newer models are all based on a stretched version of the Volkswagen Group’s A5 Octavia platform.  The current 2012 model Superb is a five-door five-seat liftback saloon/sedan, with an innovative tailgate known as ‘Twin-Door’.

It is currently the largest and most luxurious model in Škoda’s model range. The Superb name had originally been used by Škoda for luxury cars produced between 1934 and 1942.

Ken Block’s Gymkhana Five

For all you Ken Block and rally fans out there check out the new Gymkhana Five video from Ken Block!  Filmed over four days on the  streets of San Francisco there are some very cool scenes going both up and down the streets of this famously hilly city. The slow motion cinematography, true to form in this series, is also fantastic.

Enjoy!

Italian car night at La Paloma in Woodbridge

With the summer upon us and the evenings long and warm, the local auto cruise nights are now in full effect. Recently, the RedlineNorth team checked out a hidden gem, an Italian car night at the Woodbridge Gelateria & Café called La Paloma. Taking place every Thursday night in the La Paloma parking lot, all types of Italian makes and models come out to show their Italian pride.  In addition to Italian models there are a few German autos and some good ole American muscle of new and old which adds to the overall familia atmosphere.  If you want to have a car themed Thursday night in the GTA we suggest you arrive here at 8ish and then at 9:30 you can hit up the Ertefa meet as it is only a five minute drive on Highway 7. Here are some highlights from a mid June La Paloma car night.  Viva Italia!!!  It’s unfortunate about the Euro 2012.
